FxNMetal.com is a visual portfolio of David Woody’s metal sculpture/decor. David designs, fabricates, and offers handmade metal sculpture/decor in functional, natural, spiritual/wellness, and abstract themes. All work is done by David in his Houston-area studio. All Fx N Metal work is intended for interior display only. Much of his work is based on familiar natural or spiritual themes. Some work, however, incorporates unrefined and/or exaggerated geometric forms and uses bold raw materials. These instances are an application of a brutalist art design style with some pieces incorporating a minimalist style.

No mass-production or computer-aided methodologies are used. David’s work utilizes solid copper, brass, and steel sheet, plate and wire materials with wood, stone and minerals as accents or design embellishments. Decor assembly is a combination of hand assembly techniques and/or gas/electric welding. All metal colors of David’s work are natural or a result of his fabrication techniques and are coated with a clear protective finish.
Various minerals and rocks are incorporated in some Fx N Metal metal sculpture/decor. Minerals and rocks are nature’s art form and when combined in well-designed and sculpted metal decor result in attractive works of art. Additionally, followers of alternative medicines and energy centers within the body recognize the use of various minerals and rocks for their treatment, healing, and energy benefits.
All designs shown on the Fx N Metal website are available for purchase. All Fx N Metal products are fabricated to order. Delivery is stated in the quote and is normally 1 to 4 weeks, depending on fabrication complexity and workload.
Growing up in a fabrication and repair environment, at the age of 12 David started welding and learning metal sculpture from his father. Over the years David has maintained his interest and skills in creating metal sculpture/decor. After a business career, David is now semi-retired, married with children/grandchildren and spends his time creating unique metal sculpture/decor.
